It has been a long wait and at times it seemed that our dream of bringing our brewery to a reality was in jeopardy. At last we now have a location to call home. In conjunction with the Total Turf Experience, brewery partners Frank Price, Paul McIntyre, Dave Surdam and Bruce Lowden are excited to announce that we will locate our new brewery in their newly expanded facility at 614 Lambs Road, Pitman, NJ (Mantua Township).
Neck Of The Woods Brewing will offer unique beers that appeal to a broad group of craft beer drinkers and will use local ingredients when available. There will be several beers that will allow customers to easily transition to craft beer. We are installing a new state-of-the-art 10 barrel brewhouse and fermenters/brite tanks that will be temperature controlled. Our equipment will allow our brewers to control every aspect of the process while producing consistent high quality beer from batch to batch.
We expect construction of our 4,300 ft² brewery to begin in July and be completed by September-October 2018.
Total Turf has operated a 72,000 ft² full service sports complex and is in the process of completing their 2nd building adding an additional 58,000 ft². In addition to offering all types of youth/adult sports, a fitness center and on-site sports medicine, Total Turf is also home to the American soccer league’s Philadelphia Fury and back-to-back champions of arena football, the Philadelphia Soul. Total Turf’s in-house restaurant The 614 Grille will expand its menu offerings onsite.
Again we are very excited to begin construction in our new home and becoming a part of The Total Turf Experience family.
Stay connected to our website, Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter for progress of the brewery and specials we will be offering. We are very thankful for everyone who likes and follows us on social media. Please be sure to visit and follow us if you haven’t already. Regards,
The Neck Of The Woods Team
Neck of the Woods Brewing will handcraft beers in large 10 barrel batches and plans on opening in the fall of 2018. The founders are family and come from diverse areas of expertise:
Frank Price is a Nurse Anesthetist with a Masters degree in Nursing and over 15 years of anesthesia experience. Paul McIntyre has a Masters degree in Civil Engineering and over 17 years working for the federal government. Bruce Lowden has over 37 years experience in Sales and Marketing management. Dave Surdam is Vice President of Chemglass and Chemglass Life Sciences.
So what does this have to do with brewing beer? The simplest answer is PASSION, the passion to brew unique beers that appeal to a broad group of craft beer drinkers. For non-craft brew drinkers it is hard to convey the work and passion that goes into making a product that far exceeds the mass produced varieties on the market. Many of the beers produced by Neck Of The Woods Brewing will be unique and exceed the expectations of the craft beer community but we will also offer quality beers that will make a commercial beer drinker say “WOW”.
Neck of the Woods Brewing will strive to be a recognized regional brewery rooted in Gloucester County that produces a premium craft beer brand. Craft beer is our focus and we will produce a number of flagship beers while offering an ever-changing selection of brews. Our brewers are highly skilled and in addition to passion, artfully blend various malts, hops and local ingredients to produce premium beers for our customers.
Our tasting room will be a local alternative to the conventional bar scene. You will find a very warm and inviting destination where friends, family and fellow craft beer customers will gather. Our goal of providing a friendly environment will be to exceed the expectations of our guests. Whether you visit to enjoy our selection of ales or lagers you will be able to experience friendly service, engage in beer talk or simply have fun.
We will pour beers in various sizes - 4, 8 and 12 oz. We will also offer 32 oz. Crowley’s and a selection of bottles and cans for our customers to take home and share with friends and family. Our plan is to introduce a new product at least once per month. We have experimented with many recipes and found several we believe will have mass appeal based on consumer testing. When available, various beers will be made with ingredients grown on local farms and orchards. .
